Colleen Bushnell
Retired Staff Sgt Colleen Bushnell has been a leading national advocate for military justice policy reform since 2011. Colleen is a New York native, OIF/OEF veteran, who was a public affairs specialist and trainer. Colleen’s supervisor and commander assaulted her in 2003 while she served as Lackland Air Force Base media relations manager. In 2012, Colleen cycled across the country sharing her story to compel Congressional hearings into sexual abuses at Lackland Air Force Base Basic Training. Colleen serves as a Protect Our Defenders advocacy committee member and was a former board member. Colleen continues to train and advise survivors, their families, legislators, nonprofits, and the media, about the need to professionalize the military justice system.
