Meggen Ditmore
Meggen Ditmore joined the family business when she enlisted in the service in 1997. She became the first woman to enlist as an A-10 Thunderbolt crew chief in Air Force history. Over the course of her enlistment, she was stationed in the frigid wilds of Alaska and deployed to the expansive deserts of the Middle East during Operation Desert Fox. After her honorable discharge, she and her husband, Dusty, moved to Central Oregon where she immediately enrolled in nursing school. Despite the rigors of caring for two infant children, working full-time, commuting to school and coping with a lifelong battle with dyslexia, she achieved her dream of becoming a labor and delivery nurse, which she has been passionately practicing since. With her children now all grown and graduated, she is free to pursue her love of all things crafty. Recently, she started a small business where she creates unique, handmade dolls and keepsakes called “Meg’s Crafty Critters.”
